Swim like polar bears

This entry is part 9 of 13 in the series In the raising of an Adventurer - Europe 2025

-5 Degrees. That’s what the car came up with this morning. -5 Degrees. But don’t be mistaken. That’s just the car’s opinion. It feels quite a bit less than that. And guess what? Today is destined to be an outside day. We’re going to the zoo today.

Pairi Daisa is about 90 minutes’ drive from Dinant. The fairly good news is that there does not seem to be too many people with the same crazy idea of spending a day in the zoo in the freezing cold weather.

We picked this zoo, because it has polar bears, pandas, koalas, brown bears, black bears, and a great deal more. And whilst many of the animals were cuddled up, we did get to see a great deal of awesomeness today. I think I’ll just post some photo’s.

Our accommodation for tonight is inside the zoo. Our room overlooks the polar bear enclosure. So we were able to just sit and watch. That’s besides the really good buffet dinner. Theoretically, we can also have free access to a certain part of the zoo for the entire night, but we opted to not brave the cold at night as well. We still have time in the morning to visit some animals that we may have missed.
