I suppose we have yet to figure out how to just stay in one place for an entire trip. Today was another travel day. We are heading to Belgium. On the fast train – the Eurostar. And we decided to make life easy for ourselves to not have to navigate subways and stairs with all the suitcases. In stead, our Bolt driver delivered us safely to Gare du Nord, with minimum effort. And, of course, the Eurostar had us in Brussels in no time.
Our final destination for today is Dinant – a beautiful town on the Meuse river in Belgium. Our accommodation is in the Abbey of Leffe, founded in 1152, and where they started brewing Leffe ale since 1240. We have a beautiful view over the town, with our room situated on the top floor (in the roof effectively) of the stunning old building.
It looks like many of the shops and restaurants are closed over these few Christmas days, so we will take it easy for the next two days.
