Hey, where did we go…
Hey, where did we go…

Hey, where did we go…

6 September 2017

We had no real plans. And sometimes that is also good. Sure, there are a great deal of things you can do should you find yourself in the vicinity of Split. But if you are not careful, all you end up doing is chasing someone else’s dream.

We chose to take a drive to Omiš, and further along the Cetina river. I suspect that Niel’s plans were slightly different to how things ended up, but the drive to Zadvarje was quite spectacular nonetheless. And the coastal route back home equally beautiful with an elevated view of the islands. This, followed by a lunch at a small restaurant near our accommodation, and, well, then nothing, was a great day to just really unwind a little. Besides, our next few days will be filled with all kinds of interesting things.

And then, just to end off a quiet day, we decided to take a drive to Trogir. The beautiful historic town is situated on a small island between the mainland and the island of Čiovo. At times, you really have to stop and think about what things must have been like during the times when parts of these historic towns were built. The cathedral in Trogir was built in the 13th century. Almost unimaginable how the average person’s daily life must have been like.

On the square next to the cathedral, a small band started playing some great music. It was such a lovely atmosphere, so we hung around for a while, and even did a few dance moves before we headed back home.

Tomorrow we will be traveling a little further North again. A few good things to come still, but the end of our tour is also rapidly approaching. Humph.
