Pull up a chair and stay a while…

If it’s Monday, it has to be… well…. Slovenia, eventually.

We left Verona as early as possible, and took the autostrada, so we could get to Udine as quickly as possible. Our traveling partners have family in this very lovely Italian town, which just so happens to be en route to our destination for the day.

It was so very special to be spending a day with such a lovely family, and to hear a bit more about the Italians, and how life behaves itself in Italy. Udine is certainly not a town that I would ever have considered visiting, and yet, having been shown around a little, it certainly looks like a great place to find yourself in. Especially with the view of the mountains in the distance.

But now, it was time to leave the Italians behind, and venture into Slovenia. And what a very special first impression. Our accommodation is on a wine farm near Dobrovo, and we seemed to bring with us a rather spectacular thunderstorm. And after the sweltering heat in Verona, we were very pleased to see the earth being cooled off a little.

I suspect we are going to love Slovenia.
